Job Description
Duties:
Inspection & Testing: Using precision measurement tools, create and carry out inspection plans for raw materials, components used during production, and final products.
Root Cause Analysis: Use techniques such as the 8D report, 5-Why analysis, and Fishbone diagrams to lead inquiries into internal rejections or consumer complaints.
Documentation & Compliance: Keep up-to-date records of your Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949 standards.
New Product Development: Prepare PPAP submissions for new parts and take part in the APQP procedure.
Supplier Quality Management: Verify that arriving parts meet engineering drawings by conducting audits of supplier facilities and assessing their quality.
Calibration Management: Keep an eye on all gauges and testing apparatus calibration schedules.
Continuous Improvement: To cut waste, limit scrap rates, and maximize production efficiency, support Lean and Six Sigma programs.
Focus Skills:
Technical Proficiency: The capacity to understand and decipher GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols and intricate engineering drawings.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency with statistical software such as Minitab or Microsoft Excel, as well as seven quality control tools.
Metrology: Practical knowledge of automated inspection systems and precise measurement instruments.
Problem-Solving: A methodical process for locating bottlenecks and putting long-term corrective measures in place.
