Job Description
Duties:
Advanced Programmable Object Development: To drive essential application logic, create, test, and maintain extremely intricate, parameterized stored procedures, functions, database triggers, and dynamic SQL scripts.
Query Optimization & Performance Tuning: To reduce CPU and I/O consumption, examine execution plans, identify performance bottlenecks, fix database deadlocks and blocking, and rewrite expensive, inefficient queries.
Database Schema & Architecture Modeling: Create and execute reliable relational database schemas with data integrity requirements, logical primary/foreign key connections, and proper normalization (up to 3NF/BCNF).
Index Architecture & Maintenance Strategy: To optimize high-volume data retrieval pipelines, design, implement, and maintain sophisticated indexing techniques, such as clustered, non-clustered, columnstore, filtered, and covering indexes.
ETL Architecture & Data Integration Pipeline Design: To ingest a variety of multi-source data, develop, implement, and oversee scalable Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) procedures utilizing industry-standard technologies.
Focus Skills:
Expert-Level T-SQL, PL-SQL, and ANSI-SQL Literacy: Complete command of sophisticated SQL features, such as window functions, subqueries, recursive queries, complex set operators, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), and analytical extensions.
Deep Execution Plan & Profiler Diagnostics Competency: Capable of using database profiling tools and deconstructing graphical execution plans to methodically identify indexing gaps, sorting expenses, and scan procedures.
Relational Database Engine Internal Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of the inner workings of database engines, including buffer pool mechanics, locking behaviors, transaction isolation levels, and transaction log activities.
Scalable ETL & Analytical Data Warehouse Architecture: Excellent experience with target-driven data conversion pipelines to transform raw transactional databases (OLTP) into clean analytical databases (OLAP).
