Job Description:
In the manufacturing industry, the SolidWorks Design Engineer is in charge of the conceptualization, modeling, and detailed engineering of mechanical products and components. In order to assure product longevity, this function relies on using 3D CAD software to construct intricate assemblies, carry out motion studies, and do stress analysis. The ideal applicant will ensure that all models are optimized for manufacturing (DFM) and assembly (DFA) by bridging the gap between initial design and shop-floor production.
Key Duties:
3D Parametric Modeling: Use SolidWorks to create intricate 3D assemblies and parts while guaranteeing complete associativity and appropriate constraint application.
Drafting and Detailing: Produce accurate 2D production drawings with section views, thorough annotations, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Simulation & Analysis: Before prototyping, use SolidWorks Simulation to run static, thermal, or fluid flow simulations to ensure design integrity.
BOM & Documentation: To assist procurement and assembly teams, create and maintain precise Bills of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation.
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM): Use SolidWorks PDM or comparable data management software to handle design files, revisions, and engineering change notes (ECN).
Prototyping Coordination: Create 3D printed or machined samples in collaboration with the prototyping shop, fine-tuning designs in response to the outcomes of physical testing.
