Your Duties:
Welding Execution: To ensure adequate penetration and fusion, manually perform shielded metal arc welding on a variety of metals, mainly carbon steel, structural steel, and alloys.
Blueprint Interpretation: To correctly join subassemblies, read and comprehend welding blueprints, fabrication drawings, structural layouts, and welding symbols.
Material Preparation: Before welding, use angle grinders, torches, or sawing machines to cut, grind, bevel, and clean metal workpieces to get rid of slag, scale, and rust.
Equipment setup: Depending on the thickness of the material and the welding position, choose the right electrodes, set the right welding currents, and modify the polarities.
Fit-up & Tacking: Before final welding, align and clamp components into fixtures while performing accurate tack welds to preserve dimensional tolerances.
Quality Inspection: Grind away or re-weld any bad portions after visually inspecting completed welds for typical flaws such porosity, undercut, cracking, or lack of fusion.
