Job Description
Duties:
Precision Welding: Apply superior TIG welds (GTAW) to a range of metals, such as carbon steel, titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel, guaranteeing "stack-of-dimes" beauty and zero flaws.
Blueprint Analysis: Determine exact weld parameters, sequence, and joint geometry by interpreting intricate technical drawings and welding symbols.
Material Preparation: To avoid contamination and porosity in the weld pool, carefully clean, de-burr, and degrease workpieces.
Machine Calibration: Set AC/DC polarity, choose high-frequency starters, modify pulse settings, and change shielding gas flow rates while configuring TIG power sources.
Consumable Selection: Depending on the thickness and base metal, select the proper tungsten electrode and filler rod diameter.
Purging Operations: To avoid "sugar" on the weld's root side, set up internal gas purging for pipe or vessel welding.

Focus Skills:
Superb Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye-foot coordination to control the foot amperage pedal, torch, and filler rod all at once.
Metallurgical Depth: A comprehensive knowledge of different non-ferrous and ferrous alloys' melting points and thermal conductivity.
Visual Precision: The capacity to create uniform, highly penetrating beads by maintaining a constant arc length and travel speed.
Tool Proficiency: The ability to operate specialized clamps, gap gauges, verniers, and tungsten grinders.
Patience and Focus: The capacity to maintain focus over lengthy, complex welding passes on crucial components.
Safety Mastery: Comprehensive understanding of the unique risks associated with TIG welding, such as UV radiation and handling certain shielding gases.
