Job Description
Duties:
Assembly and Fitting: To assemble machinery or mechanical components, mark out, cut, file, and fit metal parts together using a variety of hand tools
Blueprint Reading: To ascertain necessary dimensions, tolerances, and assembly procedures, analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering sketches.
Measurement and Inspection: To confirm part correctness, use precision measuring tools including Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, and Bevel Protractors.
Machining Operations: Shape or finish components using standard workshop equipment such as lathes, bench grinders, and drilling machines.
Maintenance and Repair: To restore operational condition, disassemble malfunctioning equipment, locate worn-out components, and carry out repairs or replacements.
Fastening & Joining: As directed by the design, fasten components with bolts, screws, rivets, or simple soldering/brazing methods.
Pipe Fitting & Hydraulics: Design and install valves, hydraulic/pneumatic fittings, and pipework for industrial systems.

Focus Skills:
Hand Tool Mastery: Skillful hand metalworking with files, chisels, hacksaws, taps, and dies.
Precision Accuracy: The capacity to ensure that pieces fit precisely by working within strict tolerances, frequently up to 0.02mm.
Mechanical aptitude: a thorough comprehension of the interactions between gears, bearings, shafts, and pulleys in a system.
Material Knowledge: Being aware of the characteristics of various metals, such as brass, steel, and aluminum, and how they react to heat and cutting.
Physical stamina is the capacity to stand for extended periods of time and carry out repetitive manual tasks that call for solid hand-eye coordination.
