Responsibilities:
With software like Siemens NX, Mastercam, or Delcam, create highly efficient toolpaths for VMC machines through CAM programming.
Choose the appropriate machining strategy based on the part geometry and material hardness.
To reduce vibration and runout, choose the right tool holders and specify the proper drills, carbide end mills, and face mills.
Customize post-processors for particular VMC controllers and control file transfers by network links or DNC.
Verification software should be used for comprehensive machine-code simulation and collision checking to make sure the tool, holder, and spindle clear all fixtures.
Probing: Configure touch probes for in-process dimensional inspection, tool setting, and automatic part alignment.
Continuous Improvement: To speed up future programming activities, apply standardized tools libraries and analyze cutting data to cut down on cycle times.
Required Skills:
applications Expertise: Proficiency with SolidWorks/AutoCAD for basic 3D CAD modeling and 3D CAM applications.
Knowledge of milling: Proficiency in calculating feeds, speeds, and chip loads for a range of metals and polymers.
Control Systems: Knowledge of Siemens, Fanuc, or Haas VMC control logic.
GD&T Literacy: Proficient in deciphering intricate feature control frames and blueprint datum requirements.
Experience: 5 to 8 yrs
