Responsibilities:
Machine Setup & Operation: Install and modify chucks, tools, attachments, and workpieces to configure lathe machines.
Blueprint Interpretation: To ascertain dimensions, tolerances, and finishing requirements, read and decipher technical drawings and GD&T symbols.
Tooling & Material Selection: Depending on the material of the workpiece and the desired finish, choose the right cutting tools and inserts.
CNC Programming: Create or alter G-code and M-code programs to automate complex geometry milling.
Precision Machining: Execute turning, facing, threading, grooving, and boring operations while maintaining stringent quality control.
Quality Inspection: To confirm part accuracy, use precision measuring tools including bore gauges, micrometers, and vernier calipers.
Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including lubrication, coolant management, and replacing damaged components to reduce downtime.
Required Skills:
Technical expertise: The ability to operate manual or CNC lathe machines; familiarity with Fanuc, Siemens, or Haas controllers is advantageous.
Mathematical Proficiency: Excellent ability to calculate feed rates, spindle speeds, and thread pitches on the shop floor.
Manual dexterity is the ability to precisely handle heavy equipment and parts with a high degree of hand-eye coordination and physical endurance.
Problem Solving: The capacity to diagnose machine malfunctions or problems with tool wear in real time in order to preserve production flow.
Experience: 0 to 3 yrs
