Examine "Electronic Remittance Advice" (ERA) and "Explanation of Benefits" (EOB) to determine why a claim was rejected. Fix claims issues, such as coding inconsistencies or demographic flaws, and start re-submissions or appeals as needed. Maintain a high "Resolution Rate" on all assigned accounts while meeting daily and monthly production goals. Add thorough, precise notes on each encounter with payers to the Practice Management System (PMS) or billing software. To stop future losses, find recurrent refusal trends from particular insurance companies and notify the billing manager of them.
