Responsibilities:
Process Management: Supervise every step of the pretreatment and coating process, including the application of topcoat, cathodic electro-deposition, phosphating, and degreasing.
Defect Analysis & Control: Use root cause analysis to find and get rid of typical paint flaws such craters, runs, sags, and "orange peel."
Optimize your equipment by calibrating and maintaining paint application systems, such as conveyor systems, robotic applicators, and electrostatic spray guns.
Oversight of Baking and Curing: Keep an eye on oven temperatures and "Total Heat" to guarantee adequate paint hardness and adherence.
Chemical & Color Management: Supervise color matching and "Delta E" variation control; control paint viscosity, solvent ratios, and chemical concentrations in pretreatment tanks.
Environmental and Safety Compliance: Monitor the Waste Water Treatment Plant's operations and make sure that VOC emission regulations are strictly followed.
Required Skills:
Technical expertise: thorough comprehension of surface science, polymers, and paint chemistry.
Solving problems: Being proficient in Lean Six Sigma and seven QC tools to lower "rework" and "scrap" rates.
Instrument Mastery: Able to use dry film thickness (DFT) gauges, gloss meters, and viscosity-testing Ford cups.
Leadership: The capacity to oversee a production crew working multiple shifts in a chemical and high-temperature setting.
Experience: 0 to 3 yrs
