Your Duties:
Patient Demographic Entry: Correctly input and validate patient data into the billing system, including personal information, insurance coverage, and guarantor details.
Charge Capturing: Make sure no procedure or supply is overlooked by reviewing daily encounter forms or electronic health records (EHR) to document all billable services.
Code Implementation: As decided by the coding team, assign and input the proper ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, making sure they correspond with the clinical documentation.
Fee Schedule Management: Make sure that the appropriate monetary amounts are applied in accordance with the insurance contracts and the provider's particular fee schedule.
Modifier Application: To guarantee correct reimbursement and avoid "unbundling" denials, apply the appropriate billing modifiers to charges.
Quality Assurance: Conduct a "Pre-Bill Audit" to look for any missing data, like authorization numbers, referring physician information, or date-of-service mistakes.
