Job Description
Duties:
Advanced 3D Parametric Modelling & Part Design: Using the CATIA Part Design and Sheet Metal modules, create extremely durable solid models, castings, forgings, sheet metal plates, and machined components according to accepted industry standards.
Complex Class-A Surface Engineering: Use CATIA Generative Shape Design to create, optimise, and connect complex functional surfaces, guaranteeing seamless surface transitions, continuous curves, and appropriate curvature aesthetics.
Assembly Modelling & Mechanical Architecture: Define geometric constraints, manage contextual part networks, and construct and balance intricate multi-component products inside the Assembly Design environment.
DFM Audit Management: Verify wall thicknesses, tool clearance profiles, sheet metal bend allowances, and draft analysis loops to compare model geometries to actual manufacturing capabilities.
InterferenceClearance & ClashingSimulations: Before tool tooling begins, carry out digital validation procedures by evaluating spatial interferences, static spacing gaps, and kinematic system movements to fully eliminate design clashes.
Focus Skills:
CATIA V5/V6 Platform Software Mastery: Using the basic CATIA workspace to create assemblies, manage intricate generative shapes, design sheet metal parts, and manufacture solid models with complete operational confidence.
Manufacturing Design (DFM/DFA) Literacy: A thorough understanding of the limitations of tools used in common industrial processes, such as multi-axis milling settings, high-pressure die castings, plastic injection moulds, and progressive sheet metal stamping.
Advanced GD&T System Interpretation: Outstanding ability to compute and apply ASME Y14.5 or ISO standards for structural datum reference blocks, stack-up tolerance loops down to micron ranges, and geometric dimensioning.
Engineering Mechanics & Material Aptitude: Excellent physical comprehension of draft angle laws, thermal expansion scales, material shear values, and structural stress factors across a range of alloy grades and polymers.
