Job Description
Duties:
Database Design: Create and execute relational database schemas, making sure that they are properly normalized to cut down on redundancy and enhance data integrity.
Development: To manage business logic directly within the database engine, write intricate stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
Query Optimization: To enhance system performance, examine and optimize slow-running queries utilizing Execution Plans and indexing techniques.
ETL Procedures: To move and combine data from multiple sources into the central warehouse, create and manage Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines.
Data Security: Put strong security measures in place to guard against unwanted access to sensitive data, such as user roles, permissions, and data encryption.
To guarantee round-the-clock system availability, troubleshoot and fix database bottlenecks, deadlocks, and connectivity problems.
Backup & Recovery: Create and evaluate disaster recovery and database backup plans to guard against data loss in the event of a hardware or software malfunction.
Collaboration: To specify data requirements and enhance the interface between code and data, work closely with application developers and data analysts.
Focus Skills:
SQL Mastery: Proficient in either PostgreSQL, PL/SQL (Oracle), or T-SQL (SQL Server).
Performance tuning requires a thorough understanding of partitioning, query hints, and indexing (clustered vs. non-clustered).
Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS): It is frequently quite desirable to have prior experience with these services.
Analytical Thinking: The capacity to create effective logic for handling large amounts of data and visualize intricate data relationships.
