Responsibilities:
Advanced Machine Configuration: Make sure the machine bed is clear and the workholding is precisely squared and leveled. Install and align sophisticated fixtures, rotary tables (4th/5th axis), and precision vises.
Tooling Calibration: Using touch probes or manual setting techniques, load specialized milling tools (such as face mills, end mills, taps, and U-drills) and determine exact tool length and diameter offsets.
Program Verification: To confirm tool clearances and avoid spindle or machine crashes, upload NC files and run a thorough "Dry Run" or "Single Block" inspection.
Work Offset Establishment: To make sure the machine knows the precise location of the workpiece in relation to the spindle, compute and enter precise work coordinates.
First-Piece Approval: Complete the initial sample's machining and do a thorough inspection with precision tools to confirm all measurements and GD&T specifications.
Required Skills:
VMC Mastery: The ability to operate and set 3-, 4-, or 5-axis vertical machining centers at an expert level.
G-Code/M-Code Fluency: The capacity to efficiently read, comprehend, and modify CNC code in order to maximize the machining sequence.
Excellent mastery of engineering drawings, especially the understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols, is known as blueprint expertise.
Metrology Skills: Proficiency with precision instruments including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Bore Gauges, Air Gauges, and Height Gauges.
Workholding Logic: A thorough grasp of modular fixturing systems, vibration damping, and clamping forces.
Experience: 3 to 6 yrs
