Job Description
Duties:
Machine setup: Use vacuum tables, fixtures, or vises to secure workpieces; load and touch off tools in the automated tool changer (ATC) to determine precise tool length offsets.
Operational Execution: Run CNC programs for contouring, threading, boring, and milling while keeping an eye out for any odd tool chatter or vibrations.
Program Adjustment: To guarantee that parts stay within designated dimensional limits, make the required modifications to work offsets and tool wear offsets.
Blueprint & Process Mastery: Decipher intricate 2D and 3D engineering drawings, paying particular attention to surface finish symbols, hole patterns, and depth requirements.
Quality Inspection: To ensure that tolerances are being followed, do thorough in-process inspections using Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Bore Gauges, and Depth Gauges.
Focus Skills:
VMC Proficiency: Practical experience with 3-axis or 4/5-axis vertical machining centers.
Coordinate Geometry: A solid grasp of Cartesian coordinates and their relationship to the work envelope of the machine.
Measurement Accuracy: Proficiency with precision linear and depth measuring devices.
Technical literacy is the capacity to decipher and identify simple G-code and M-code commands in order to troubleshoot faults or program stops.
Mechanical Knowledge: Knowledge of various cutting tool geometries (such as end mills, face mills, drills, and taps) and how they work with different materials.
