Responsibilities:
Installation and Piping: Install window, split, and package units. To guarantee leak-proof refrigerant lines, precisely bend, flare, and braze copper pipes.
Component Repair: Diagnose, fix, or swap out mechanical parts such expansion valves, compressors, condenser coils, and evaporator units.
Refrigerant Charging: Use electronic detectors or soap solution to test for leaks; use vacuum pumps to empty systems; and charge with the proper refrigerants.
Electrical Troubleshooting: Examine and resolve common electrical problems, such as malfunctioning thermostats, contactors, capacitors, and wiring connections.
Regular maintenance includes clearing condensate drain lines to stop water leaks, cleaning or replacing air filters, and performing "jet washes" on coils.

Required Skills:
Mechanical aptitude: The ability to operate recovery machines, vacuum pumps, and hand and power tools.
Brazing and Welding: Excellent oxygen-acetylene welding abilities for junctions between copper and brass.
Physical strength is the capacity to labor at heights or in uncomfortable positions while lifting large equipment, such as compressors and condensers.
The capacity to logically trace a thermostat malfunction back to the mechanical hardware is known as diagnostic ability.
