Responsibilities:
Instrument Calibration: To guarantee measurement accuracy, regularly calibrate field instruments, such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters, using master calibrators.
Electrical troubleshooting involves identifying and fixing issues with power distribution panels, soft starters, VFDs (variable frequency drives), and AC/DC motors.
Maintenance of Control Systems: PLC and DCS, I/O modules, wiring, signal tracing, and basic logic verification should all be maintained and troubleshooted.
Field Device Repair: Examine and fix final control components, such as actuators, control valves, and solenoid valves, including positioner calibration and stroking.
Loop Testing: To confirm signal integrity and accurate mapping of process variables, perform "Loop Checks" from the field device to the HMI/SCADA system.
Safety and Interlocks: To avoid dangerous situations during process deviations, test and maintain Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD) and safety interlocks.
Required Skills:
Multidisciplinary Expertise: Excellent knowledge of electronic instruments (4-20mA loops, HART protocol) and electrical systems (three-phase power, switchgear).
Tool Proficiency: Expert use of oscilloscopes, meggers, HART communicators, loop calibrators, and multimeters.
Pneumatic Knowledge: Proficiency with tubing, pneumatic positioners, and instrument air systems.
Safety Rigor: Working in classified hazardous locations (ATEX/IECEx) and mastering LOTO (Lock-Out Tag-Out) protocols.
Analytical Thinking: The capacity to determine whether a process error is caused by a sensor calibration drift, an electrical short, or a mechanical failure.
Experience: 0 to 3 yrs
