Key responsibilities of a ramp operator:
Loading and unloading cargo and baggage:
Efficiently moving luggage and cargo between the aircraft and baggage carts, following proper procedures for weight distribution and security checks.
Aircraft marshalling:
Guiding aircraft to and from gates using hand signals and communication with pilots to ensure safe taxiing and parking.
Operating ground support equipment:
Operating equipment like baggage belts, aircraft stairs, and vehicle lifts to access the aircraft.
Safety checks and inspections:
Performing routine inspections of the aircraft ramp area, ground support equipment, and baggage for potential hazards.
Communication with flight crew and ground staff:
Coordinating with pilots, cabin crew, and other ground personnel to ensure smooth aircraft servicing.
